On December 18th, students in grades four through six enjoyed a unique cultural experience. The Jockey Club's "Fun with Classical Chinese" touring performance, presented by the 7A drama group, was staged in the new school auditorium.
Professional actors used visual theatrical techniques to transform dry classical Chinese texts into vivid narratives. In "The Oil Vendor," the actors demonstrated ancient archery and oil-pouring techniques, allowing students to personally experience the principle of "practice makes perfect." The stirring performance of "Mulan's Ballad," depicting her taking her father's place in the army, deeply moved every audience member.
During the event, the actors also came down from the stage to interact with students and teachers, eliciting laughter and applause from the audience. This performance not only deepened students' understanding of historical figures but also effectively broke down psychological barriers to learning classical Chinese, cultivating a strong sense of diligence and patriotism towards Chinese culture.
