Gomoku, as an intellectual sport, has become an official competition event in international competitions such as the World Mind Sports Games and the Mind Sports Olympiad, and actively strives for wider international recognition. Our school, St. Timothy's Primary School, has always valued the development of intellectual sports and firmly believes that Gomoku not only cultivates students' thinking abilities but is also an excellent vehicle for promoting Chinese culture.
This year, our school was honored to co-organize the "Gomoku Primary School Chinese New Year Challenge" with the Hong Kong Gomoku Association, attracting six primary schools to compete for team and individual awards. On the day of the event, participating students demonstrated strategy and wisdom on the Go board, embodying the traditional spirit of "making friends through chess." Through this competition, students not only improved their logical thinking and concentration but also experienced the profound heritage of Chinese chess, inheriting this national cultural treasure.
