TIME TO TALK Speech Competition
What do you do when you face a challenge? Something hard that may make you feel scared or want to give up? This year's "Time to Talk" team addressed this very topic and used real-world examples to inspire us all when facing scary or daunting challenges.
The "Time to Talk" team, consisting of four students from 5A: Hayley Tai, Carina Man, Kenneth Fung, and Jean Siu, participated in this year's "Time to Talk" Competition hosted by the EDB's NET Section. They chose to present the song "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey, taking the main line literally to discuss the power of persistence and the importance of not giving up.
To illustrate their message, they shared the inspiring story of Ed Sheeran, highlighting his struggles with improving his singing abilities, experiences of bullying, and periods of homelessness. This real-world example served to motivate their audience. The team then reflected on their own areas for improvement and outlined their plans to work toward their goals.
Despite feeling nervous and facing strong competition, the team embraced their message and did not stop believing in themselves. They delivered a commendable performance in front of a crowd of strangers, and they can hold their heads high and be proud of their efforts.
